A note from Andy…
My love of golf originated whilst I was playing professional football as we would often play golf after the training sessions.
When my pro football career was ended early due to an injury I embarked on a new career to help fellow professionals staying injury free, I have continued to develop and grow this educational journey over the last 20 years.
I began by qualifying in fitness and personal training and with continued education I have covered conditioning, sports massage, soft tissue therapy, performance analysis, pain science and much more. This is when my interest in golf began to grow and develop as I became qualified with golf specific certifications such as Chek golf biomechanics, faster golf specialist and Nike golf performance specialist which resulted in me co-writing the power plate golf education programme .
I have worked with the team of Golf professionals at Real Golf for several years, we hit if off straight away with our passion for performance, golf as a sport and the movement and strength issues that plague the game. As a golf conditioning specialist my role is to work under the umbrella of golf performance that has sports science, medicine, psychology and physiology at the core within the golf coaching world. If the coaching is applied correctly then I would end up doing less work as a conditioner and more work as a consultant
Richard Ellis and I over the last few years have had many brain storming discussions, so I’m really excited about joining the REAL Golf family and proud to be the head of golf fitness.
If im not teaching someone else to move then you’ll find me snowboarding!?
